The Marlette Fire Department consists of 22 volunteer firemen and responds to an estimated 100-120 emergencies each year. The department is responsible for fire suppression, fire prevention, building maintenance, and inspections in the City of Marlette, Marlette Township, and parts of Burnside and Koylton Townships.
The department maintains 6 pieces of fire apparatus. This includes: 2 pumpers, 1 tanker, 1 rescue rig, and 2 grass rigs. The JAWS of life is one of Marlette's most valued pieces of rescue equipment.
Fire Run Rates
Fire runs are charged at a rate of $550 per half hour. There is no separation between structure fires and/or car fires, etc. **Effective August 2, 2016 - Due to the passing of the Marlette Township Fire Protection Millage township residents will no longer be responsible for the $550 per half hour for fire runs to their residences for the duration of the millage.
